The game was delayed more than three hours by rain in the middle of the seventh inning. Yadier Molina went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run for the Redbirds, who avoided a three-game sweep. Carlos Martinez plated a run and tossed seven innings of one-run, three-hit ball to up his record to 3-0. Trevor Rosenthal closed it out for his fourth save. Anthony Rizzo went deep and drove in two for the Cubs. Kyle Hendricks allowed four runs in five-and-a-third innings as he dipped to 1-2 with the loss.
