A 70-year-old Vandalia man has been charged in Fayette County Court with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor.
The charges against Bobby D. Kissiar allege that the act was committed against a minor under the age of 13 between May of 2013 and September of 2015.
Kissiar was brought in to custody after probable cause was found for an arrest warrant earlier this week.
Kissiar requested for a public defender to be assigned to represent him. That request though was denied by Judge Don Sheafor, as Kissiar is alleged to own his own home. Whether or not a defendant is assigned a public defender is largely based on the financial status of the defendant.
A status hearing has been set for April 12 at 10:00am. Kissiar remains in the Fayette County Jail on $50,000 bond.
