Altamont and and Brownstown-St. Elmo picked up wins last night and now will face off tonight in the finals of the Farina (South Central) Girls 1A Regional. Altamont advanced to the regional championship with a 65-35 win over North Clay. A big second half propelled the Lady Indians to the win. Altamont led just 32-27 at the half, but they outscored the Cardinals 33-8 in the second half. The Indians were led by Tinley Mette’s 15 points and Keidron Duckwitz’s 14.
In the other semi-final matchup from the South Central Regional Brownstown-St. Elmo beat Ramsey 60-40. The Bombers led by 8 after three quarters, and used an 18-6 fourth quarter to run away with the win. Morgan Brown scored 21 points in the win.
Altamont and Brownstown-St. Elmo will meet tonight at 7:00pm with the winner advancing to the Nokomis Sectional.
