The Altamont Board of Education met earlier this week, where they learned that their school district has received a high financial profile ranking. Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch said that this is due to the bonding that the Board issued for construction work. Fritchtnitch said further that the District has a maximum borrowing capacity of $1.3 million, which is slightly above what was expected and puts Altamont schools in good shape.
The recently completed boys National Trail Conference Basketball Tournament was discussed at the meeting as well. Superintendent Fritchtnitch and the Board reported positive feedback from the tournament, and called it another successful year.
In other action, the hiring of Aaron Lock as High School Boys Track Coach was announced. The Board also adopted the District’s 2016-2017 school calendar, and approved May 21st at 7:00pm as the graduation date for the current school year.
