Illinois hosted Ohio State Thursday, falling to the Buckeyes 68-63.
The Illini trailed 56-43 with 6:34 left in the game, but went on a 15-2 run to tie the game up and force overtime. Illinois freshman Jalen Coleman-Lands made the game tying three-pointer with just under a minute remaining. The Illini only managed five points in the overtime, and were outscored 10-5 in the extra five minutes on their way to the loss.
The loss dropped Illinois to 10-11 overall and 2-6 in the Big Ten. Ohio State improved to 14-8 overall and 6-3 in the Big Ten. The Illini will remain at home this weekend. They’ll host Wisconsin on Sunday, with tipoff set for 6:30pm. Pregame coverage will begin on 98.9 The Game at 5:30pm.
