There have been some pretty crazy stories of students getting suspended for unusual reasons of late. This is another one of those cases.
A girl in a class at Gateway Middle School fell from her chair while having an asthma attack. This occurred several minutes after the girl had alerted the teacher to her situation. The teacher told the other students to remain calm and stay in their seats while she emailed the school nurse. After the girl had fallen though, 15-year-old Anthony Ruelas decided something needed to be done. “We ain’t got time to wait for no email from the nurse,” Ruelas said, according to a teachers report. Ruelas then carried the student to the nurse’s office where she was able to receive assistant.
For his assistance Ruelas was suspended two days for disobeying his teacher’s orders. Read more here.
