C.E.F.S. Golden Circle Nutrition Program was recently informed by the Area Agency on Aging that In spite of the state budget impasse lingering on 60% of the State of Illinois General Revenue Funds (GRF) were released to meet the nutrition needs of the elderly in the service area.
As a result of receiving a portion of the General Revenue Funds, and using local monies that have been raised C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation’s Golden Circle Nutrition Program will be able to maintain congregate and home delivered nutrition service four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday effective February 1, 2016.
GCNP Director, Debbie Weber stated that “the partial restoration of the General Revenue Funds is a step in the right direction so that C.E.F.S. Golden Circle Nutrition Program can continue to provide hot nutritious meals for seniors to keep them in their own homes and living independently.”
GCNP Director, Weber further stated that, “I want to thank the communities for all of their concern and local donations for the seniors in their communities. Without the continued local financial support the Golden Circle Nutrition Program would not be able to provide this much needed nutrition service to the seniors of the communities.”
