The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce’s Workforce Skills Task Force is working with the East Central Illinois Development Corporation (ECIDC) to complete a Regional Skills Gap Survey in ECIDC’s 11-county service area in east central Illinois. The Chamber’s Task Force will use the data to create a workforce development plan to address our area’s current skills gaps and worker availability. The results will also be useful in planning efforts for the Effingham Regional Career Academy being formed in cooperation with Lake Land College.
ECIDC is collecting labor-related data from organizations in the Manufacturing, Healthcare, Industrial Technology, and Logistics business sectors. This data will be used to provide a snapshot of our region as it relates to skilled labor needs which can be used to identify shortages and assist in developing long term solutions.
You can complete the survey by clicking on this link. When completing the survey, each business self identifies as one of the four business sectors. All individual responses will remain confidential. Deadline to respond is January 15. Survey responses will be combined from all participating counties and businesses and presented at the Manufacturing Roundtable which will take place February 11, 2016 at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham.
Questions about the Skills Gap Survey and Manufacturing Roundtable can be directed to ECIDC Executive Director Randi Bohannon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
