On Friday, January 1 a 3-year-old Neoga boy died in a tragic accident. Emery Adam was riding on a tractor with his grandfather when he fell off and was run over. Effingham resident Bill Passalacqua (Bill Poss) set up a GoFundMe account to support the Adam family.
The account was set up on January 3, and was open for donations through the afternoon of January 6. The original goal for the account was to raise $5,000. In just three days though, the account more than exceeded that goal by raising $31,075. In total, 717 people donated to the account. The money raised will go to the parents of Emery Adam, Jed and Jenni, to assist with funeral costs and other needs in this time of loss. The GoFundMe account set up for the Adam family can be seen here.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 5. Emery’s obituary can be read here.
