The City of Effingham has named Linders Limited LLC/McDonald’s as a recipient of the City of Effingham’s Business Appreciation Award.
“As a long-time Effingham employer and a powerful presence as an eatery option for visitors and residents alike, I’d like to thank McDonald’s and the Linders Family for their contributions to the Effingham community. Their restaurants are a model for consistency, cleanliness, and professionalism. They make Effingham look and taste good,” stated Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker.
The nominator stated, “McDonald’s and the Linders have been a staple in the community for years. They’re always more than helpful when anyone asks for donations, they treat their employees very well, they’re very involved in the community, and McDonald’s drives a lot of interstate traffic to the area.”
Blake and Laura Linders moved to the Effingham area 18 years ago with two McDonald’s and two children. They have now grown to running seven McDonald’s and they have four children. They knew from the moment they arrived that Effingham was where they wanted to grow. “We felt Effingham was the perfect place for families,” stated Laura Linders. “It offers us the best of both worlds, small town friendly and big city entertainment, shopping, and dining.”
Over 350 people are employed throughout Linders Limited. “We are blessed with hard working employees,” said Laura. Many of their employees have been with them since they bought the restaurants.
McDonald’s and the Linders enjoy being heavily involved in the community. Blake and Laura are both active in their church and serve on boards for the Effingham Chamber of Commerce, Community Foundation, Washington Savings Bank, Effingham Child Development Center, and the Effingham Country Club. They are also active supporters of the United Way, CASA, Blessings in a Backpack, the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex and Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities.
