Two inmates escaped from the Dixon Springs Impact Incarceration Program early Sunday evening. The Illinois Department of Corrections has since announced that the two escapees have been captured. Staff at the Dixon Springs facility discovered that Jerrette Reed and Kevin Rivera were missing at approximately 5:50pm. Reed is serving a three year sentence on meth related
charges out of Randolph County. Rivera is serving a five year sentence for the manufacture and delivery of cocaine out of Cook County.
Reed and Rivera were taken into custody around 9:00am Monday. They were located in a field about one mile west of the facility. After their capture they were brought back to the camp, fed, and given a medical exam before being transferred to a maximum security prison.
The search was conducted by the Illinois State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
