The Illinois State Police have announced their activity and enforcement figures for the month of October in District 12. Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties, answered 218 calls for service and initiated 1,643 incidents in the field.
In addition, there were 921 citations and 954 written warnings in October, including 503 speeding citations, 22 DUIs, and 94 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 191 motorists, conducted 337 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 78 traffic crashes. There was one fatal traffic crashes during the month.
In total there were 569 citations and 301 written warnings issued for “Fatal Four” violations last month. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
