J.J. Abrams, director of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and Carrie Fisher, who plays Princes… General Leia, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Leia is no longer a Princess, but rather a General. When you think about it, Leia was never really just a princess in the traditional sense, nor was she ever a damsel in distress. She was a diplomat, fighter, and a military commander. So it makes sense that in the new “Star Wars” film, Leia is a General. According to the interview, at some point a certain character makes a slip-up and calls her “Princess,” probably to get under her skin. I wonder who that could be?
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits theaters on December 18th.
