The Effingham County 911 Board has approved their budget for Fiscal Year 2016. The budget comes in balanced, with Income estimated at $624,360 and Expenses estimated at $623,447. The Board also has $500,000 in reserves.
It was also announced at the meeting that the radio consoles purchased late last year are now fully installed and operational. It was noted that there are some minor issues, including volume inconsistencies, that are being worked out.
Also of note, the City and County have approved their part of an intergovernment agreement with the 911 Board. The agreement allows for the continued use of the city police department and county sheriff’s office as locations for 911 answering points. Other facilities are available as well with the agreement.
