The Illinois State Police have announced their activity and enforcement figures for the month of September in District 12. Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties, answered 234 calls for service and initiated 1,487 incidents in the field.
In addition, there were 802 citations and 931 written warnings in September, including 445 speeding citations, 12 DUIs, and 35 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 230 motorists, conducted 431 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 66 traffic crashes. There was one fatal traffic crashes during the month.
In total there were 321 citations and 268 written warnings issued for “Fatal Four” violations last month. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
