A new sentencing date has been set for the Effingham doctor found guilty earlier this year of multiple drug charges. Dr. Naeem Kohli’s sentencing date is now set for November 4. He is guilty of seven counts of llegal Dispensation of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
The guilty verdict came from a jury, which found that Dr. Kohli wrote prescriptions for controlled substances such as Oxycodone and Hydromorphone with out any legitimate medical reason for the prescriptions between May of 2009 and May of 2013.
Dr. Kohli could face up to 20 years on each of the 7 counts. The sentencing hearing will be at the U.S. District Courthouse in Benton, Illinois.
