A week after Manufacturing Day was held in Effingham County the United State Department of Agriculture has released data that shows the positive impact that manufacturing jobs have in the state. Between fiscal years 2009 and 2014, the USDA has invested $2.5 billion to help rural manufacturers across the country increase production and capacity, move products to market at home and abroad, and support good paying jobs in rural communities. That investment has paid off in Illinois, creating numerous jobs. 83,938 rural manufacturing jobs in the state. The USDA has invested $49 million in the rural manufacturing industry in Illinois.
