Today in 1993 Michael Jordan retired from the game of basketball for the first of three times. The retired followed the Chicago Bulls third straight NBA Championship.
MJ’s attempt at a baseball career was documented in a really good “30 for 30” film. It’s available on Netflix and elsewhere online. Check out the trailer below.
Jordan’s baseball career was shortlived, with him rejoining the Bulls midway through the 1994-95 season. The Bulls were eliminated in the Eastern Conference semi-finals that year. The following three years though would result in another three-peat for Chicago, afterwhich Jordan would retire again. He would again return to play two more seasons in the NBA, this time for the Washington Wizards.
