Tickets are $20/per person, and are available for purchase at the following locations:
Effingham County Chamber of Commerce
Merz Sheet Metal
& IGA Plus.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the operating costs of the CTEC class.
The county-wide class provides high school students with hands-on learning of the cross-section of construction skills. Nineteen students are enrolled in the 9 month program that meets from 7:15am to 9:00am every school day. The curriculum involves OSHA safety training certification, class room curriculum, and “in-the-field” experience in most major building trades.
The class has received financial support from both area contractors and via Effingham City Council’s TIF program. Area construction firms have also provided direction on curriculum and field experiences.
