C.E.F.S. Literacy Program Coordinator Susan Wilson stopped by the studio to talk about the “Day of Giving.”
ProLiteracy is launching a “Day of Giving” tomorrow (Friday, September 25). The Day of Giving campaign is a way to create awareness of the work done locally by volunteers through the C.E.F.S. Literacy Programs and Learning Center, and to help fund these programs.
C.E.F.S. is looking for people to make financial contributions to the program, and to volunteer their time. The various adult programs provide free services to increase intergenerational literacy competencies, including reading, writing, computer, banking, and other life skills.
Volunteers are trained, and then asked to assist with tutoring two hours a week. C.E.F.S. operates locally, serving seven counties.
Donations are accepted by mail at 204 West Washington, Effingham, IL 62401. For questions about the programs contact 217-347-7033 or firstname.lastname@example.org
