News Director Tom Jamison talked with Alzheimer’s Association Special Events Manager Carrie Otto about the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Mattoon.
The Walk will see hundreds of residents of Mattoon, Charleston, and the surrounding communities join together in the movement to fight Alzheimer’s. Participants in the event will learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment, and support programs and services. Walk participants will also honor those effected by the disease with the Promise Garden ceremony.
The Walk is on Saturday, September 26 at the Roundhouse Complex at 401 North 10th Street in Mattoon. Registration begins at 8:30am, with the opening ceremony at 9:30am, and the walk at 10:00am. To start or join a team visit www.alz.org/walk or call 309-662-8392.
