The C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation with the start of October will begin the 2016 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). October 1st is the first day that appointments can be made for the program. October and November are priority months reserved for those households that have either a member aged 60 and above or disabled.
Appointments can be made by contacting the local C.E.F.S.County Outreach offices. Starting on November 2nd applications will also be accepted from households, who at the time of application, have a child under age 6. Proof of age will be required. Assistance will become available to all other income-eligible households beginning December 1.
