State law mandates the Illinois Department of Corrections to inspect each county jail annually and to make the results available to the public.
The Effingham County Jail had its inspection on August 25th. There were no deficiencies found during the inspection.
Following the results of the inspection, Sheriff Dave Mahon stated that he is “very proud of the job Jail Administrator Marnie Raber and her staff have done.” The Sheriff continued to say that “the men and women who comprise the Effingham County Correctional Unit run one of the most professional Detention Facilities with whom he has had the opportunity to work.”
A copy of the jail inspection is available for the public’s review at the Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Effingham County Clerk.
