The Illinois State Police have announced their activity and enforcement figures for the month of August in District 12. Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties, answered 217 calls for service and initiated 1,626 incidents in the field.
In addition, there were 966 citations and 953 written warnings in August, including 547 speeding citations, 11 DUIs, and 29 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 220 motorists, conducted 367 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 56 traffic crashes. There were two fatal traffic crashes during the month.
There were 501 citations and 3272 written warnings issued for “Fatal Four” violations last month. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
