Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker has signed a proclamation declaring September 7th – 13th as “Suicide Prevention Awareness Week” in the City of Effingham.
Nationally, September 6th through 12th was proclaimed as the 41st annual Suicide Prevention Week. The purpose of the week is to inform and engage health professionals and the general public about suicide prevention and warning signs
On September 26th Heartland Human Services will coordinate an American Foundation for Suicide Prevention “Out of the Darkness Walk” to raise awareness around suicide prevention and education.
