The Illinois State Police have announced their activity and enforcement figures for the month of July in District 12. Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties, answered 245 calls for service and initiated 1,408 incidents in the field.
In addition, there were 856 citations and 803 written warnings in July, including 539 speeding citations, 14 DUIs, and 34 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 264 motorists, conducted 263 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 89 traffic crashes. There were four fatal traffic crashes during the month.
There were 540 citations and 282 written warnings issued for “Fatal Four” violations last month. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
