In 2016 a Beck’s Hybrids facility will be opening in Effingham. The facility will be a 92,000 square foot building on a 90-acre piece of land next to the “Cross at the Crossroads” along Interstate 70. The Effingham location will feed into southern Illinois and parts of Missouri.
On Thursday, the Southern Illinois Field Show was held at the future location. The event offered Beck’s customers and local residents the opportunity to tour the property and meet with agricultural professionals. Presentations and interactive demonstrations were also ongoing throughout the day. Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker presented Beck’s CEO Sonny Beck, with a ceremonial key to the city.
Beck’s is the largest family owned seed company in the United States.
