Attorney Charles Bradley Vaughn has been appointed to finish the current term as Richland County State’s Attorney. Vaughn was appointed by the Richland County Board to replace David Hyde, who resigned last week.
Hyde officially submitted a resignation letter on July 30, but he had informed the County Board of his intention to resign earlier in July. Hyde served as assistant state’s attorney from 1995-2004. He was elected State’s Attorney in 2004. With his resignation, Hyde said that he was ready to retire.
