The City of Effingham is working on a mobile application to increase engagement with its residents. When it is launched the application will be available free of charge to anyone who wishes to download it on a mobile phone or tablet. The service will also be available online at the City’s website.
If approved, the City will work with the New York City based company PublicStuff over a 60 day period to create and customize the app. The goal is for the app to be used for public works related issues, economic development, utility bill payments, tourism related promotions, and more.
The creation of the app will cost $5000, which will be split among water, sewer, tourism, and general funds. Approval from the Effingham City Council is still needed.
