The Illinois State Police hosted their 38th Annual Awards Ceremony in Chatham Thursday, honoring the acts of heroism and professionalism displayed by the state’s police. Each awardee was recognized for their exemplary service to the ISP and the citizens of Illinois.
Among those receiving awards were four local officers and one local resident.
Corporal Darren Feldkamp of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, Altamont Police Officers Doug Holman and Cody Collins, and Mason resident James Holland received the Director’s Award of Distinction. This award is presented to any individual, agency, or group outside the Illinois State Police who gave extraordinary support and assistance to accomplish the goals of the Department.
State Trooper Ronald Will was also awarded Thursday. He received the Officer of the Year Award for District 12. Officers receiving this award have displayed a combination of outstanding contribution in the area of assignment, valor in the line of duty; exceptional knowledge and ability to complete job functions, overall productivity, civic contributions, and professional appearance and demeanor.
