The Effingham Unit 40 School Board met Monday, approving a number of items for the upcoming school year. The Board approved an agreement with SEPCO Food Cooperative. SEPCO was the lone bidder to provide food for the district’s cafeterias. The price is estimated at $1,435,381. This is based on last years usage and the current enrollment for the upcoming year. The actual total cost won’t be known until the end of the 2015-2016 school year.
In other action, the Board approved a fuel bid with Effingham Equity, passed a prevailing wage resolution as required by state law, and renewed life and health insurance premiums.
The Board also transfered funds from working cash to the operation and maintenence funds. This money will be used for the projects and equipment purchases the district has planned for the upcoming year.
