Three area residents were injured Sunday in an accident on 875th Road, 100 feet west of 1600th Street in Effingham County. The accident occurred shortly after midnight, at 12:35am.
Police say a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Tyler Balch of Newton went from the eastbound lane of 875th Road into the westbound lane colliding with an oncoming vehicle driven by 24-year-old Bryan Anderson of Beecher City. Both drivers, and a passenger in Anderson’s vehicle, 19-year-old Sigel resident Ashley Pruemer, were injured in the accident.
Balch refused treatment for his injuries, while Anderson and Pruemer were treated at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. Balch was cited for driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and improper lane usage.
