The Dieterich School Board was updated at their recent meeting on the Rural Development Technology Center that is planned to be built at the Lake Land College campus in Effingham. The facility’s planning committee is currently waiting on approval of a grant from the state before construction can begin. The facility will cost approximately $12 millions and will take 34-36 months to complete once funding is in place. Dieterich, and other area school district’s have been voicing their support for the project.
The Dieterich School Board also amended their budget for the recently completed school year. The budget change reflects the loss of additional state revenue. This loss of revenue forced the District to dip further into their reserve funds.
The Board also announced the formation of a District Public Relations/Communications Committee. This committee was created in an effort to keep the public informed of various items that are important to residents of the district.
