Effingham resident Chris Miller was in court Monday where he received his sentence for the offenses of Home Invasion and Residential Burglary. The 24-year-old Miller received a 15 year sentence for the Home Invasion charge and a 10 year sentence for the Residential Burglary charge. These two sentences are set to run at the same time. Miller will spend at least two additional years in prison after those sentences are complete though. That is because while on home confinement he removed the electrical tracking device and was on the run briefly before being brought back into custody.
The home invasion and residential burglary charges were from 2013. The additional escape charge occurred earlier this year.
