Steve Wescott stopped by the WCRA studio Wednesday to talk with News Director Tom Jamison. Steve, who is the founder of Needle2Square (N2S), is walking across the country with a goat named LeeRoy Brown. The name Needle2Square comes from his route from the Space Needle in Seattle to Times Square in New York City. The mission of N2S is to raise awareness for an orphanage/addiction rehab program run by his best friend in Nairobi, Kenya called Uzima Outreach and Intervention (www.uzimaoutreach.org). Steve says his goal is to raise enough funding through the Needle2Square walk to build a farm, which he hopes will allow the orphanage to be self sufficient.
Steve keeps an active online presence to promote Needle2Square and to update the status of the walk. This includes blogging, and posting videos and photos.
